Infos for Growers
Our objective is to meet the requirements of fruit-growing in the new millennium on a sustainable basis. Our range of products and our working methods are therefore subject to an ongoing program of optimization.
New varieties and unconventional cultivation methods will determine the appearance of plantations in coming years. Fruit-science research facilities worldwide will produce new (patented) cultivars selected in accordance with completely new criteria compared to those which were standards 50 years ago.
As licensees in Germany and Europe, we are delighted that we are able to produce important varieties which show great promise for the future. Please ask us about these new varieties and we shall be pleased to discuss potentials for their use.
We consider it as essential to take into account not only changing climatic and growing conditions, but also increasingly high demands in terms of quality and relevance to health. We also wish to systematically select and cultivate varieties under conditions which prevail in Germany in order to successfully cultivate those varieties in future. Our partner in the breeding project we started in the year 2000 is HortResearch, one of the most famous fruit breeding & research organization in the world. However, the project also involves the close cooperation of other international practitioners and scientists from 4 continents.
Our plant stock cultivation is fully audited and inspected and subject to strict controls in terms of plant quality and plant health. As a fruit grower, you know that the wisest and least expensive investment for your plantation is the purchase of controlled plant stock. Many of the measures which safeguard the quality of plant stock are implemented as standard in our nursery, while additional and voluntary quality assurance procedures have been introduced in order to gain and maintain your confidence in us as a plant supplier. We are available at all times to answer your questions on this or take you on an inspection tour of our nursery facilities.
Sensational results have emerged from studies conducted worldwide on the health value of blueberries. The findings are absolutely amazing. No other fruit customarily to be found on retail shelves even comes close to supplying comparable amounts of bioactive substances such as anthocyanin and resveratrol. These findings must be collected and evaluated and their interrelationships properly understood. This is no easy task, because not only the orthodox school of medicine, but also homeopathy is confronted with a completely new situation. The interplay of bioactive substances is highly complex and cannot be artificially reproduced in the form of drugs. Here is a great opportunity, one which fruit growers should exploit in advertising their fresh market produce: it is the fruit, the whole fruit and nothing but the fruit should be eaten. In other words: ‘Your food should be your medicine.’ (Hippocrates)
